Fedwire ISO 20022 Release Rescheduled
The Fedwire Funds Service ISO 20022 release has been rescheduled from November 2026 to November 2027, aligning with Swift’s delayed standards release. Financial institutions should continue preparing for the removal of unstructured postal addresses. More details will be available this fall. Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) has announced the planned discontinuation of FedGlobal ACH Payments to Mexico and Panama and the Foreign and Canadian Check Service by the end of 2026 due to declining volumes.
To ensure uninterrupted service, institutions are encouraged to begin transitioning to alternative providers as soon as possible. Transitioning is where Bankers' Bank of the West can help! We offer processing for international check deposits, collection items, currency orders/deposits, and wires to support your institution during and after this transition.
